CATT-OG is pleased to offer several levels of Membership for Practitioners in the field of OG Therapeutic Tutoring.

CATT-OG Supporter

A Supporter is an individual who supports the mandate of CATT-OG and who has completed a CATT-OG accredited introductory course such as The Principles of OG/MSL or equivalent. This membership category is intended for parents, administrators, teachers, EAs, retired OG practitioners and other support workers.
CATT-OG Supporters continuing to CATT-OG Practioner-Associate Interim status will have $25 reduced from their fee.

CATT-OG Classroom Educator

A Classroom Educator is an individual who has satisfactorily completed a CATT-OG accredited Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator course. Classroom Educators do not qualify for Member’s insurance benefits or the CATT-OG referral database. Classroom Educators receive the CATT-OG newsletter and discounts to CATT events.

CATT-OG Practitioner-Associate Interim

A Practitioner Associate Interim is an individual who has satisfactorily completed both of the following CATT-OG accredited training courses: Principles of OG/MSL and CATT-OG Basic Level Orton-Gillingham inclusive of a Practicum.
CATT-OG Supporters continuing to CATT-OG Practioner-Associate Interim status will have $25 reduced from their fee.

CATT-OG Practitioner-Associate

A Practitioner-Associate is a member has satisfactorily completed a CATT-OG accredited Intermediate Level Orton-Gillingham training course. In addition the individual must have been Practitioner-Associate Interim for a minimum of one year and has accumulated at least 100 hours of post-basic training OG Tutoring experience. The Practitioner-Associate member has also undergone an evaluation of a Therapeutic Tutoring lesson by CATT-OG Supervisor.

CATT-OG Supervisor

A CATT-OG Supervisor is a practitioner in the field who also assists Trainers during training courses, provides mentorship to newer members and supervises evaluations of Practitioner-Associate Interims.

CATT-OG Trainer

A CATT-OG Trainer is an Orton-Gillingham practitioner, supervisor and mentor who teaches CATT-OG accredited training courses. This experienced practitioner has taught a wide range of students over the years. The Trainer has been mentored by a CATT Master Trainer, has pursued instructor’s education and has developed curriculum and materials.

CATT-OG Master Trainer

A CATT-OG Master Trainer is an established CATT-OG Trainer with at least five years of experience training CATT-OG accredited courses. Master Trainers mentor and guide CATT-OG practitioners who wish to become CATT-OG Trainers.

Note: The Orton-Gillingham approach is very well respected and thus, is sometimes offered by someone who is not a CATT-OG member and who therefore, may not have met the stringent training standards that CATT-OG requires.

All members in good standing carry an annually-renewable membership card and certificate of membership that should be available upon request.  All members must also have a current Criminal Record Check (CRC) on file.

If members of the public would like to verify that an individual is a CATT-OG member in good standing, or verify the accreditation of a trainer or training program, they may contact the academy for confidential confirmation.
