Using Roots and Affixes to Build Vocabulary and Decoding Skills.”
Present by: William Van Cleave
2700 East Broadway, Vancouver
Doors open at 8:15am
Recognizing that most schooling provides decoding at only the primary level, this workshop picks up where basic word attack leaves off.
Even with effective basic phonics instruction, readers are often unable to handle difficult vocabulary, the increased quantity of text, and its complexity. An understanding of morphology, or the meaning parts that comprise words, is valuable for the development of vocabulary and word attack skills.
In this interactive, hands-on workshop participants practice with each concept and learn tools useful for helping students understand and decode unfamiliar words.
Visit www.wvced.com to view William's materials, including "Phrases and Sentences for Reading and Spelling" and "Everything You Want to Know and Exactly Where to Find It" which are being offered at a pre-conference discount of $30 U.S.
All materials can be pre-ordered ONLY. Please contact William at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order.
